FOOD JUSTICE UPDATES

Healthy Start Update

Lewisham has some incredible food pantries and social supermarkets supporting communities in times of need. We are happy to announce that they all now accept the Healthy Start card to help parents get more nutritional foods for their weekly allowance. If you are pregnant or have young children under four and are on Universal Credit you may be eligible for a Healthy Start card. This could help you pay for your basket of groceries from your local community project.

The new government has launched a consultation to expand the Healthy Start scheme to people with no recourse to public funds.

Information on Healthy Start: https://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/

See events section for two trainings coming up.
